Frequently asked questions

Navigating your career path can raise many questions. We've compiled answers to some of the most common queries we hear from university students about finding their way and how Consully can help. How do you know what recruiters really look for in interns and graduates?

We simply cannot overemphasis the importance of reaching out to people who already work in that firm or the industry. Who would you listen to? Your friend with limited knowledge or someone who engages with the recruiters almost every day and knows what's going on inside the firm? It takes guts, but they are the most accurate source of information!

What makes Consully's career advice different from other guidance?

We are students who have experienced this journey as well. We are actually going through it right now! It is a difficult and challenging process, but we believe helping each other will be beneficial for all of us. There is no need to feel as if you are judged by others or feel like you simply need to beat someone to get the position you want. We are all in this together.

What are common worries students have when they apply for internships?

Many students believe they lack work experience or connections. The truth is, so do many of the other people applying for the same role. It is our goal to tell you how you can improve your resume and, most importantly, what the firms really look for. Don't forget: securing an internship is very competitive, but sometimes people who you didn't expect to get the position end up getting the internship, and there is a reason for it!

What's the easiest way to get started with career help?

The most important thing is to reach out to anyone you know who works in the firm. Get on LinkedIn, text them, and be humble. Appreciate their time for answering you and show a genuine interest in their experience. If you have the willingness and determination to ask them out for coffee, they will also appreciate your dedication and tell you what you want to know. The information you will get will be your valuable assets.
